” Only those who dare to fail greatly, achieve greatly.” – Robert F. Kennedy

How do you think and see yourself and your life when you hear these words? Do you ever sit back and say I want this or want to be this or that? There isn’t a soul on earth that hasn’t or doesn’t. But what is that makes certain people succeed so well?

The answer is in the quote. To get the sweetness of personal success in any endeavor lies in your acceptance of failure. The ticket is to expect failures. You MUST fail enough to achieve. Think of baseball. A good batter has a 300 batting or slightly higher. That means 1/3 of the time he is a success. Sounds weird. But think on it…without the failure you can never improve yourself, you cannot learn your limits…or rather the amazing heights of personal success you can achieve…UNLESS YOU DARE YOURSELF.

We will all fail…but HOW many failures you have will determine your success in large part. So think on this. You hate your job. You have always dreamed of running your own business. You have to actually TRY starting one. It will take failures to learn about loans, staff, insurance….BUT YOU CAN. You will need to learn to max your time…but in the end we could have a great company helping others afford a living while providing a service..one you are passionate about.

You love the ocean…You always dreamed of surfing catching killer waves….Will you let those waves stop you? There are a bunch of surfers out there now. CONQUER the failures…fall off the board…GET UP…learn that balance. LOVE the journey…know and have the GOAL in your head. Having the goal AHEAD pulls you forward.

The country is in a state of flux…we need people to DARE themselves. So you fail…SO WHAT!! Wont be the first time or last. Fail enough, we could have new technologies, new ideas, NEW HOPE simply from YOUR dedication and NOT quitting. DARE TO FAIL….and you SHALL ACHIEVE GREATLY!!!

So Norman Brodsky recently wrote an article in Inc Magazine about the new breed of entrepreneurs. Essentially these are people who are starting on line businesses vs traditional business. So what exactly is the difference?

The biggest difference is start up cost. This directly relates to risk. The greater it is the more you lose. Norm points out that more and more people are moving to on-line businesses vs traditional. In my opinion this is to be expected. The presence of social media like YouTube, Facebook, and Twitter have redefined the markets and essentially allowed individuals to have greater impact and leverage when it comes to business, news, marketing etc. However, Mr Brodsky brings up one fearful point. As people, we act and move differently typically when everything is on the line vs when its not.

In operating an on line business, its possible to still work and have a safety net which conversely makes you less likely to push for business solutions. If finding that solution was life or death…you would push harder. This is true in my on line business. Many who attempt it quit because of early setback and learning curves. Which brings us to Mr Brodsky’s concern. With this outlook from the new entrepreneurs, what could this mean for the economy?

My opinion on the matter is this. It is a concern. However, this down turn in the economy has awakened a spirit in many people who never thought they had it. More people are turning to on line businesses because its all or nothing already. People need opportunity. They want to pursue their passions. The collapse of Wall Street has forced people to look more to their ingenuity to make a living and make a difference. That in an of itself is a good thing. The All or Nothing in terms of financial risk has come but in a backend way. Personally, I have had my fair share of failure in 3 years of doing my business, but I have had successes. Learning is sometimes a long and hard process. If those who at the very least come to the the table with their commitment in hand and this concept firmly entrenched in their mind…will be a successful New Entrepreneur guiding this country to its financial rebirth.

If you have started your own on line business or are looking to go into one I would love to hear your comments and feedback.

KEEP MOVING!!!!!

Why is it so important to keep moving? We all see the images of great looking people who have killer abs or just flat out great curves..but what can we say about the health of the every day person?

Well leading a sedentary lifestyle has many downsides but does anything actually happen to your body really just from not being active? You bet something happens…and its NOT good.

The writers for the NY Times covered the issue well here http://well.blogs.nytimes.com/2012/02/29/why-its-so-important-to-keep-moving/?src=me&ref=health

Just taking people who were normally active per week and forcing them to essentially stay inactive, their bodies showed less drastic changes in blood sugar spikes. Their metabolism was still able to compensate for periods of poor diet and inactivity. However, for those that consistently live on a sedentary plane, they showed much more drastric increases in blood sugar. That just makes you hungry…you eat more etc. Your muscles dont grow hence they cant help control tose spikes since they are not requiring sugar.

Continuing a sedentary lifestyle predisposes you to heart disease and perhaps many other conditions simply because…YOU ARENT moving. What about controlling your cholesterol? What happens to your repiratory rate? These are all factors to think about. Hey try and do something…walk, jump rope, run, do something on those work breaks….KEEP MOVING. Your body will help you if you help it
